About Open Workbench

Open Workbench is the open source successor to Workbench, Niku's desktop project scheduling application used by over 100,000 project and resource managers worldwide.

Niku, the developer of Workbench and its predecessor, Project Workbench, has contributed the Workbench source code to the open source community so that users get the benefits from community-based development and support: higher quality, faster innovation, and lower costs.

Open Workbench is free to use and free to distribute.

Availability

The latest version of Open Workbench is available at www.openworkbench.org, the web site for the Open Workbench end user community.  The site also includes additional product information, release notes, documentation, user discussion forums and support information.

Developers

Project managers and other end users can expect a steady stream of value added improvements by a global community of developers and service providers who contribute their enhancements to Open Workbench. Those interested in obtaining the source code and participating in the community of developers will find more information at the Open Workbench development project web site, soon to launch at www.sourceforge.net, the world's largest open source software development website.

"Desktop project scheduling tools, though nearly a billion dollar market, are commodity products today. Open source project schedulers will allow vendors to focus on meeting the demand for the more complex applications of project management as well as IT planning, governance and control."
